getting on the scaleRead my About Me page for more information.  As I wrote, I had created an ongoing blog but lost everything during a host transition so am starting over.  I don’t really like to “journal” during dieting, but I do like blogging and this will hopefully keep me on track.

During my illness I was nauseous for months and it was easy not to eat.  Once I got my appetite back it was once again challenging.  I am a junk food junkie and need to turn my eating habits around after having cancer (I am supposedly cancer free and I do not want it to come back).  Between my surgery and the radiation I was eating the healthiest I ever had been.  I was juicing and eating mostly vegetarian – I was what is considered a Flexitarian.

However, prior to the radiation I was told to stop juicing and eating raw fruits and vegetables.  It could cause stomach/bowel upsets with the radiation and if I ate something with salmonella I’d be in big trouble.  So I changed my eating habits and started eating more meat, but as I mentioned, I was nauseous a lot and didn’t eat much.  I was eating a lot of baby food because sometimes that’s all I could handle (and I like babyfood, although they don’t make those tasty custards any longer).

Once the radiation and nausea ended, I needed to go on a diet plan again as I need something structured to keep me on track.  I am a binge eater and most diets help to curb that.  I wish I could just do it on my own, but I’m usually not successful unless I have a plan to follow.

My stats:  5′ 3″ – petite and small boned but pear shaped, highest weight 157, current weight 136, goal weight – 125-129 (we’ll see)
